“A dramatic clifftop lair fit for James Bond - or his nemesis”

“Judi did an interior design job for me on a gut rehab project in Kent. I could not be more delighted with the outcome of the project, her work was stunning.
She was extremely professional and created beautiful and innovative designs. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. I recommend her highly. I will definitely be using her again for any future projects that I may have!”

Coastal Clifftop Luxury Minimalist Design
Perched on top of a cliff with spectacular views overlooking the sea, is this unique ex WWII military gunnery converted into a luxury minimalist home.
The clifftop house has an interesting heritage as an ex-military Emergency Coastal Defence Battery (ECDB) which was in use from around 1942 and disused at the end of the war. Over 40 years later it was granted planning permission for residential use and was extended into a Spanish style villa by the previous owners.
The house had been in a semi-derelict condition for over 10 years, until under new ownership, construction started on extending and remodelling the existing structure. The photos above show the immense logistical task ahead for the whole construction team, as the only access to the house was via a huge scaffolding tower!
The interior of the Gunnery has a state of the art smart home system and a passenger lift cut inside the cliff leading from the ‘sea’ level garage with subterranean concrete link passageway providing access to the cliff top 30 metres above.
The house incorporates cast concrete gun loops which would have originally been used for rifles or smaller calibre machine guns, retaining an important heritage link through the interior design.
