Project Background
Lordship Recreation Ground (The Rec) is the largest district park (49 acres) situated in Haringey and it was first opened as a public park in 1932.
The Rec includes a variety of recreational facilities, including a café, tennis courts and a small theatre called The Shell. The park also includes a scaled down road network named the Model Traffic Area, which opened in 1938 where children can use bikes to teach them about road traffic in a safe environment.
Access Scope:
Following access consultancy on Markfield Park and Bruce Castle Museum and Park, I was appointed by Haringey London Borough Council to carry out an access audit of the Lordship Recreation Ground to support a Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) bid.
Following successful HLF funding, I was further appointed to carry out design reviews of the architectural proposals by several architectural practices which included a new Environment Centre, City Farm and Toilet Block.
